Money: Humanity's Greatest Agreement

Before coins, banknotes, stock markets, or numbers glowing on a screen, people faced a more basic problem: how do we exchange value with people who may not want what we have? The first episode follows that question from memory and barter toward money, trust, and one of humanity's most enduring agreements.

About the show

Why does money work at all?

We earn it, save it, spend it, invest it, fear losing it, and rarely stop to ask where it came from or what it has asked humanity to believe.

Money's the Matter is a narrative podcast exploring financial history, psychology, markets, and the ideas that still shape everyday life. Each episode begins with a story and follows the people, places, and ordinary frustrations behind familiar financial systems.

Bryan Yach, CFP® is a financial planner and storyteller with fifteen years of experience helping families navigate money and major life decisions. The podcast grew from his curiosity about the history and human behavior hidden beneath the numbers.
